Jill Coleman was named Executive Director of Kent Youth, Inc. in October of 2009. She had served as Acting ED since March of that year.  Prior to assuming her new roll, Jill worked in the capacity of Case manager and then as the Residential Program Coordinator.

Jill has a BA in Psychology from Wesley College and an MEE in Elementary Education from Wilmington College and, prior to coming to Kent Youth, worked for 10 years with the elderly population at Chester River Manor

Born and raised in Sudlersville, MD, Jill is well known throughout the community for her active involvement in sports.  She played volleyball, basketball and softball at Wesley College. Jill was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Wesley College and she also received All American Athlete awards in basketball and softball.  Currently, Jill coaches basketball at Kent County High School and also umpires for UBAU.  In September 2009, Jill’s slow-pitch softball team won the World Championship in South Carolina.

Jill brings extensive experience and knowledge to the job and understands both the administrative and program components of Kent Youth.  Additionally, she is a certified residential program administrator with the state of Maryland.   Jill’s active involvement in the community and her exceptional understanding of young people are just a few of the special gifts she brings to Kent Youth.

With 20 years’ experience already behind her in cost accounting, some of which were with AT&T, Kent Youth business manager Jane Welsh keeps the program’s finances in order, and makes them understandable to the board with complete reports at every meeting. Jane came aboard in 2006, a welcome addition in the office.

Jane and her husband moved to Kent County from northern Virginia in 2004, but because they’ve sailed the Bay for more than 20 years, Chestertown wasn’t new to them.

A graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa., Jane has degrees in psychology and accounting.

In addition to her years with AT&T, Jane has been comptroller for a large excavating company and the accountant for the Old Dominion Boat Club in Alexandria, Va.

Her newest hobby is learning to play bridge, "hoping it will keep me mentally sharp in years to come," she says. Jane is also actively involved with animal rescue groups.

Glenda Kelly is the Administrative Assistant for Kent Youth.  A life long resident of Kent County, Glenda was born and raised in Rock Hall, MD.  Glenda has nearly 30 years experience in office work and bookkeeping.  When not at work, Glenda enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and her two cats.

Latresha Cruz is the Staff Development Coordinator for Kent Youth.  Latresha began her career with Kent Youth in 2001, after graduating from Delaware State University with a Bachelor of Social Work.  She was an Outreach Case Manager until 2005 and then worked as the Case Manager for 8 girls at Kent Youth Larrabee house until it closed in May, 2009.  In her spare time, Latresha enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Our Senior Outreach Case Manager, Tracy Donaghue, has been with Kent Youth since 2005.  Tracy graduated from Washington College with a degree in Sociology.  Prior to her work at Kent Youth, Tracy worked as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist in Easton, Maryland.  In her free time, Tracy enjoys going to the gym and traveling.

Lauren Krasko joined the Kent Youth team in January of 2010 as an Outreach Caseworker. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Lauren holds a bachelors degree in Family Studies and a Certificate in Psychology. Lauren works with at risk youth between the ages of 12 and 18 in Kent, Cecil, and Caroline counties. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her family.

Maintenance Supervisor, John Stewart, has been with Kent Youth since 1972 when he came on staff as a residential counselor/transportation officer.

John moved into the position of Maintenance Supervisor where

he has been invaluable in assuring the excellent upkeep and improvements to our building and grounds.

To recognize his many years of service, John was honored with the dedication of the Biddle House weight room in his name during the 2009 annual meeting.
